Statement :: Brighton & Hove Business have received numerous cyber attacks since the announcement of the possiblity of a 50 million share out to the local economy for businesses for improved high speed broadband. It’s dissapointing as clearly it a demonstration to the coalition government that the economy cannot control itself online and therefore, funding could go to a more deserved town or city or face a reduction in funding and/or opportunity to receive funds at all.

Schools with the summer half-term breaks are also coinciding with the double bank holiday in many regions, employers are likely to be facing an influx of holiday requests from staff.

Marks & Spencer launching online transactional website into Ireland

Marks & Spencer is launching a transactional website for the Republic of Ireland. The online facility will enable Irish customers to order clothes and other items for home delivery.
More than 10,000 M&S products will be available across womenswear, lingerie, menswear, kidswear and homeware. Shoppers can choose from a range of fashion exclusives, available in this huge export push into Ireland, for the first time, in addition to the full range of M&S clothing. Smaller businesses given financial help

Smaller businesses are to be given financial help by a new Government-backed initiative – the National Loan Guarantee Scheme (NLGS). The scheme aims to help SMEs across the UK access cheaper finance. Eligible companies must have an annual group turnover of no more than £50 million. Those qualifying will be able to access loans with interest rates one per cent lower than those available elsewhere. The NLGS works by the Government acting as guarantor, to enable banks to get better deals on a proportion of their borrowing. These savings are then passed on to SMEs. Barclays, Santander, Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland have so far signed up for the NLGS.
