Brighton & Hove Business – Plastic Bag Levy
Four environmental organisations have now joined forces to call for a levy on single-use bags in England, following the introduction of such levies in Wales and Ireland. Consumers had for three years reduced their dependence on single-use plastic bags with shopping bag use declined 2006 from a staggering 11bn to 6.5bn during 2009 but now on the rise again.
